Dr. Pillai’s Ashtaang · Kerala Ayurveda
Ayurveda at Ashtaang
An individual approach to care, rooted in Kerala Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is a traditional medical system from India, bringing together medicines, food, daily habits and therapeutic procedures. At our Ambernath clinic, your physician begins with your concerns and health history, then discusses the care appropriate to your situation.

Your care at Ashtaang
Consultation connects the parts of your treatment.
Clinical assessment
Your history, current medicines and relevant reports are considered alongside Ayurvedic assessment. Diet and lifestyle advice are part of the consultation.
Plan a consultation →Ayurvedic medicines
Medicines are selected by the treating physician and dispensed following consultation. Kerala Ayurvedic pharmacies are preferred sources, alongside other manufacturers when appropriate.
Medicine information →Panchakarma & therapies
Procedures are added when clinically appropriate. The physician chooses the treatment and materials, with preparation and aftercare suited to the individual plan.
Understand Panchakarma →The person behind the symptoms
Time to understand your clinical picture.
We want to hear what has changed and how it affects your everyday life.
Bring your previous prescriptions, investigations and a list of current medicines or supplements. Our physicians review relevant blood tests, imaging and specialist reports alongside their assessment. Tests are arranged externally when needed, and care beyond the clinic’s scope is referred appropriately.
Panchakarma is not part of every treatment plan. Some patients need consultation, medicines and practical diet or lifestyle guidance without procedures.
Our clinical approach →Understanding Ayurveda
Tradition, clinical experience and research.
Classical understanding
Ayurveda has its own traditional framework for understanding health and illness. We explain relevant concepts in plain language so that you can understand the advice given.
Clinical experience
Our physicians draw on their training and experience when planning care. Dr Sandeep has practised since 2008 and Dr Sreeja since 2009. Clinical experience does not guarantee an individual outcome.
Meet our doctors →Contemporary evidence
Scientific evidence varies between treatments and conditions, and well-designed research remains limited in many areas. A result for one formulation or procedure cannot establish the effectiveness of every Ayurvedic approach.

Ask your physician
Understand the plan before starting.
Ask what the proposed treatment is intended to address, what alternatives exist, what risks matter in your case and when progress should be reviewed. Your physician can explain how traditional use, clinical experience and relevant research inform the recommendation.
Medicines selected for you
At Ashtaang, medicines are selected following consultation, with your health history and current treatment in mind. Let your physician know about any medicines or supplements you take, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding, so these can be considered in your care.
Your physician will explain how to use the prescribed medicines and any precautions relevant to them. Changes to existing treatment should be discussed with the prescribing doctor.
