Preparing for Panchakarma
Plan the treatment around you—and the visits around your life.
Panchakarma at Ashtaang begins with a physician consultation. Your doctor assesses whether a procedure is appropriate and explains the preparation, visits and aftercare involved before you begin.
Start with consultation
Assessment comes before a procedure booking. Your current health, reports and medicines help your physician decide the plan.
Panchakarma is not required for every patient; consultation, medicines, diet and lifestyle guidance may be sufficient for some.
Understand Panchakarma →One plan, several stages
Understand the whole course.
01 · Assessment
Discuss your health and the proposed procedure, including suitability and relevant precautions.
02 · Preparation and treatment
Follow the preparation and dietary guidance given for your plan. Procedures are carried out under an Ayurvedic physician’s supervision.
03 · Aftercare and review
Allow for the aftercare and follow-up your physician advises. The main treatment session may be only one part of the course.
Before dates are agreed
Make room for the practical details.
Some plans involve several consecutive visits. The number, sequence and length of visits depend on your procedure and individual treatment plan.
Our outpatient facilities →Attendance and time away
Ask how many visits are anticipated, how long to allow at the clinic and whether your work or usual activities need adjusting.
Meals and preparation
Your physician gives the preparation, diet and procedure-specific instructions for you. Ask what to eat or drink before a visit and whether any restrictions apply; there is no single preparation routine for every patient.
Travel and support
Depending on the procedure and your condition, your physician may advise rest, transport assistance or accompaniment. Discuss this before arranging your journey home.
Outpatient arrangements
Ashtaang does not provide accommodation or overnight admission. Plan travel and any stay outside the clinic around the schedule agreed with your physician.
A complete picture
Keep your physician informed.
Bring relevant reports, previous prescriptions and a list of all medicines and supplements. Mention allergies, previous reactions and any change in your condition since your assessment.
Advice about continuing, changing or stopping medicines is given after your case is reviewed.
Let your physician know about pregnancy, breastfeeding or other circumstances that may affect the plan. Ask about the particular procedure’s risks and precautions before starting.
Suitability and physician assessment →Before treatment starts
Leave with clear instructions.
Confirm the proposed procedure, preparation, visit schedule and aftercare with your physician. Medicines, oils, decoctions and other materials are selected for the individual case. Reception can help with appointment arrangements or rescheduling during working hours.
This guide helps you plan your visits. The instructions for your own treatment are given after assessment; it is not a guide to carrying out Panchakarma yourself.
