Dr. Pillai’s Ashtaang · Physician-led Ayurveda
Our clinical approach
Your concerns, history and daily life shape the care we plan.
We begin by listening to you in your own words. Your physician considers what has changed, the care you have already received and what you hope to understand, before bringing clinical assessment and Ayurvedic understanding together.
Consultation comes first
A plan for the individual
Medicines, procedures, diet and lifestyle advice are selected for your needs. Panchakarma is not required for every patient.
What to expect at consultation →Understanding your health
A conversation, followed by careful assessment.
Hear your concerns
Tell us about your symptoms, everyday routines, previous treatment and expectations. Your questions are part of the consultation.
Review the clinical picture
We consider your health history, current medicines and relevant reports alongside Ayurvedic assessment. Bring previous prescriptions and investigations with you.
Discuss the next steps
Your physician explains the proposed care and practical commitments. Relevant external investigations or specialist advice are recommended when needed.
Individual care
Treatment is selected, not assumed.
Our Kerala Ayurveda practice brings together medicines, procedures and practical guidance on food and daily habits. The combination depends on the person and the clinical situation.
Medicines
Medicines are dispensed following consultation. Tell your physician about all medicines and supplements you use so that advice can be based on your full treatment history.
Panchakarma and other procedures
Procedures are considered only after physician assessment. The doctor selects the procedures, medicines and materials, and explains preparation, the likely visit schedule and aftercare.
Understand Panchakarma at Ashtaang →Diet and everyday routines
Diet and lifestyle advice form part of the consultation. We discuss changes in the context of your needs and daily life.
Understanding the advice
Clear explanations and realistic expectations.
We want you to understand what is being proposed and why.
Classical Ayurvedic descriptions and traditional use provide a context for our practice. Clinical experience and contemporary research are different sources of knowledge; we do not present one as proof of the other.
Ask your physician about the purpose of a proposed treatment, relevant risks, alternatives and what remains uncertain. Decisions should take account of the individual case, rather than a promise of a particular result.
We do not guarantee cures or ask patients to make treatment decisions from general website information. Advice about existing medicines is given after reviewing your case.
After consultation
A written plan and a reason to review.
Your prescription
Every patient receives a written prescription after consultation. Bring it with you for follow-up, along with any new reports.
Review your response
Follow-up is planned according to your condition, response and treatment. Tell your physician about changes, difficulties or concerns so the plan can be reviewed.
Appropriate referral
We recommend investigations or care outside the clinic when needed. Ashtaang is an outpatient clinic and does not provide emergency or inpatient services.
